Fat Max makes every other speaker cable look like it's on a diet. The truth of the matter is that to provide proper damping factor and have really tight low end that produces the tonality of your instrument you need lots of copper. Lots of current (volume) needs lots of copper. Fax Max's 8 gauge cable is as much bigger then 12 gauge as 12 gauge is to 16 gauge. 256% bigger in fact.

A great lighter duty, lower power speaker cable, Excellines is engineered to deliver performance for users on a budget. Although 12 gauge cable is the minimum recommended for higher power live sound systems, 14 gauge is sufficient for many applications. This cable is terminated with heavy-duty ShowSavers 1/4", heavy duty bananas, and Neutrik Speakon connectors for years of trouble-free use. |

ProCo does not recommend the use of 16 gauge speaker cables for most live sound applications. Having said that, they sell 50,000 of them a year. Use 16 gauge cable in systems with 100-200 watts only, nothing more. ProCo 16 gauge cables are sturdy, and well built, using ArmorFlex speaker cables, and ShowSavers plugs, ProCo bananas, and Neutrik Speakons. |
